WHY ESTATE PLANNING MATTERS

Estate planning is about more than legal documents. It is about making sure the people you love are protected, your wishes are followed, and your family does not have to face unnecessary conflict or court involvement at an already difficult time. At Cutler Riley, we help Utah families build personalized plans that are clear, complete, and built to last.

OUR SERVICES

Wills and Trusts
A properly drafted will or revocable living trust ensures your assets go to the right people, on your terms, without confusion or conflict. We walk you through every decision and prepare documents that work when your family needs them most.

Powers of Attorney and Healthcare Directives
If you become incapacitated, someone needs the legal authority to manage your finances and make healthcare decisions on your behalf. We help you appoint the right people and give them the tools to act.

Informal Probate
When a loved one passes without a trust in place, probate may be required. We guide Utah families through the informal probate process efficiently, so you can settle the estate and move forward.

Asset Protection & Legacy Planning
For families with more complex needs, we offer advanced planning strategies to preserve wealth, protect assets from future creditors, and ensure your legacy passes to the next generation on your terms.

WHY CHOOSE CUTLER RILEY?

Cutler Riley focuses exclusively on estate planning for Utah individuals and families. That focus is intentional. Estate planning done well requires deep familiarity with Utah law, Utah probate procedure, and the specific concerns of Utah families — and that is all we do.

Our process is flat-fee and transparent. You will know exactly what your plan costs before we begin, and there are no surprises. Every client works directly with an attorney, not a paralegal or a document assembly service.

We have offices in Draper and Kaysville, and we serve clients statewide. Whether you are putting a basic plan in place for the first time or need advanced trust and asset protection planning, we are here to help you get it right.

HOW IT WORKS

  1. Schedule a Free Consultation. Meet with an attorney in person, by phone, or online. We will learn about your family, your assets, and your goals — and give you a clear picture of what your plan should include.

  2. Design Your Plan. We prepare your estate planning documents — wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives — at a flat fee we quote upfront. Every document is tailored to your situation.

  3. Review and Sign. We walk through every document with you before you sign. You will understand exactly what each one does and why it is in your plan.

  4. Stay Current. Life changes. When it does, we are available to update your plan so it continues to reflect your wishes and your family's needs.

Recognized by the Utah Community

Cutler Riley has been voted a Best of SLC winner for seven consecutive years. The Best of SLC award is determined by online reviews and community votes across the Salt Lake City region — it reflects the experience our clients have had, not a self-nomination. We are proud of the recognition, but what matters more to us is what our clients actually say.

“I highly recommend Cutler Riley. My experience with them has been very satisfying due to their excellent knowledge and service….Because of the way we were treated as customers we have recommended Cutler Riley to family and friends.”

— Ron B.

“Justin and I met for 30 minutes and went over what I wanted. I had also talked with a few other attorneys and decided to go with Cutler/Riley and very soon after letting them know, I had a copy of my trust emailed to me for review. I printed it out and made a few small corrections, but he had completely gotten the gist of what I wanted. We met in person again to go over the details and I left with everything set up exactly the way I'd hoped. I'm very happy that I chose Cutler/Riley as my estate attorneys.”

— Joan F.

“Justin recently worked with me on an estate plan. The process was seamless and the pricing reasonable! It was super easy to schedule appointments and he was always prompt at returning phone calls and answering my questions. The process was smooth, rapid, and completed to perfection.”

— Marti S.
